What Happens When A Car Lease Ends
If you are interested in a car lease you need to know all about the process. And not only do you need to know what goes into this process up front, but you should also have a good idea as to your options when your lease ends. Many people forget about this until they are sitting down with their rep actually making the deal. Although you do not have to decide on this until you are ready to turn the car in, it is always a good idea to have a clue as to what your options are.
Turn the Car in
The most common thing to do with a car after the lease is up is to turn it into the dealer. Simply put, you can give them the car and then walk away from the process. Make sure that when you do this you get all of the final paperwork to prove that you turned the car in, and that the dealership agrees that it is in good condition. You do not want to make the mistake of forgetting to do this.
Buy the Car
So you have fallen in love with your car while leasing it? If so, you may want to buy the car when it is time to hand the keys back to the dealership. When you sign your contract at the beginning of the lease your rep will give you information on how much it would cost to make a purchase at the end of the term. If you feel that you really want to buy the car and that you are getting a good deal, you should consider making a purchase. You can either buy the car outright, or you can finance the remaining price. For some people this is much better than getting into another lease.
Lease Again
Your last option is to start another lease when you turn your car in. While you do not have to lease a car from the same dealer, it is something that you may want to consider doing. Since you are a returning customer you may be able to get a better deal, or take advantage of a special that they have. Remember, you will never know about any of these offers unless you ask.
s you can see, you have many options when your car lease ends. Make sure that you take a look at each one so that you can make the right decision.
