Turning your Car in
One of the most important things to know about leasing a car is that you will eventually turn it back in to the leasing company or dealership. When you sign the contract this will be agreed upon, and from there you will know what you have to do. The most common leases are 24 and 36 months, but there are others that you will want to look at as well. Your lease rep should be able to help you out with these details.
Mileage Restrictions
When you lease a car you will have mileage restrictions that you must follow. For instance, on a 2 year lease you may be able to drive 24,000 miles. For each mile that you go over you will have to pay a penalty to the company that you leased from. You will go over all of this before you sign the contract so make sure that you are paying attention. You may be able to negotiate a lower penalty per mile fee if you take the time to do so.
Turning the Car in Early
hen you sign a lease contract you are saying that you will keep the car for a specified period of time. If you decide that you want to turn the car in early for one reason or the next you are going to have to pay money to do so. While this may sound silly, it is the way that a car lease works. Make sure that you are aware of this before you sign the contract. You may find out that the early out clause is too much for you to handle. Even though you probably will not be forced to do this, there are times when circumstances arise.
