Can I End A Car Lease Early?
If you enter an agreement for a car lease there are many stipulations that you will have to abide by. For those people who like to buy a car and then do what they want, a lease is not right for them. One of the biggest concerns among people who are interested in leasing a car is if they can end the contract early. This is one detail that you will most definitely want to look into before you decide to move forward with a lease. If you do not, you could end up regretting it big time in the end.
Ending a Lease Early
So what you want to end your car lease early? If so, there is a better than average chance that you are going to have to pay a fee to do so. When you sign your lease agreement the early out clause should be outlined in detail. This will tell you when you can turn your car in, and what penalties you will incur if you do so. If you feel that for any reason that you may have to do this, you should consider buying your car instead. Penalties can be quite lofty when you turn your leased car in before you are supposed to.
Why End Early?
The main reason that somebody will want to end their lease early is if they run into financial problems. For instance, you may lose your job and find that finances are quite tight. If this happens you may turn to getting out of your lease before the term is up. Again, your contract will dictate how this works.
Early out Specials
Every so often a manufacturer or dealer will run a special which allows you to get out of your lease early. While this may sound like a good thing on the surface, there are usually other stipulations that you must be aware of. For example, they may let you out of your current lease early, but require that you get another car from them. At this point you will have to do decide what is best for you.
o the short answer to the question is yes; you can get out of a car lease early if you absolutely have to. But before you do this, make sure that you know what you are going to be up against as far as added fees are concerned.
